Mehabooba Telugu Movie

Feature Film | 2018 | Action, Drama
Critics:
Mehabooba is a confident debut by Akash Puri but his father lets him and himself down again with a directorial catastrophe. In his previous films, there used to be some blocks in Puri's style but Mehabooba is totally a tedious watch.

A Pakistani Girl Afreen (Neha Shetty) comes to Hyderabad for studying and is helped here by Roshan (Akash Puri) from a Romeo. Even though, they do not see each other, they feel a connection which dates to their previous birth. Then there is a flashback in the backdrop of 1971 Indo-Pak War. What is this all about? Why they were distanced in their previous birth and what happens to their love finally? forms the rest.

Akash Puri's experience as a child actor seems to have helped and he delivered a natural performance quite confidently. He really shined in this debut movie. Neha Shetty is beautifully and did well. Murali Sharma and Sayaji Shinde are good. Rest all are not so notable for the film.

Puri Jagannadh took the time tested story based on incarnation for introducing her son with Indo-Pak backdrop being the only novel point. But there is no Puri mark over the treatment in terms of pace or the commercial elements. The first half is pretty average while the second half is initially good but the entire Pakistan Episode is fully boring. The climax sequence is even worse.

Except for the title songs, all the other songs are disappointing. The camera work by Vishnu Sarma is splendid and the CG work is also superb. Production Values are lavish and Editing by Junaid Siddique should have been a lot better in the second half.

Finally, Mehabooba is a confident debut by Akash Puri but his father lets him and himself down again with a directorial catastrophe. In his previous films, there used to be some blocks in Puri's style but Mehabooba is totally a tedious watch.
