Silabarasan's "Vallavan", which has been made after two years of meanderings, is all set to be released on Deepavali Day (Oct.21).

"Vallavan" is touted a gripping entertainer with youth as the focus. The plot development centers on a school boy (plus-two student) and as the story unfolds three (or four) different facets of the character, each of them displays love; affection and friendship come into sharp focus. Simbu is said to have cast himself in the larger than life sequences. He would even be seen with smoking cigars especially in dance numbers.

"Vallavan" is one of the eagerly awaited movies of this year for it is expected to project Simbu's potential as a skilled artiste in all splendor.

The movie has three heroines played by "Kadhal" Sandhya, Nayanthara and Reema Sen, and so there would not be a dearth of glamour and glitz in every frame of the movie. Nayanthara has performed a sizzling dance number, suspended in midair with the help steel ropes.

Apart from writing the story and screenplay, Simbu has also directed the film. Though he was fully involved in the making of his earlier venture "Manmadhan", Simbu gave the credit to A.J. Muruha. "Manmadhan" turned out to be one of Simbu's best films. Almost the entire unit of "Manmadhan" is there in "Vallavan".

Balakumaran penned the dialogue for "Vallavan". The producer is P.L. Thenappan, who has made films like "Kana Kandaen" and "Priyasaki". Yuvan Shankar Raja scored the music.

The shooting spots were Chennai, Kerala, Karnataka, Mangalore and songs have been filmed in Spain, Turkey, France and London.

Ahead of the release of "Vallavan", Simbu has said, "I will not ask anyone to go and watch my film. But I assure you that it is a hundred per cent entertaining package for the youth. Diwali is the only time when people go and watch all the films. I love competition and that is what keeps me going."
