Feature Film | 2018 | UA
Critics:
Idam Jagath is a complete disappointment from Sumanth. Except for the concept lifted from a Hollywood film, nothing appeals.

Nishith (Sumanth) is a Night Time Freelance Report in Vishakapatnam who lives on capturing the crimes, during the nights, and sells that footage to TV channels. One day, he falls for Mahati (Anju Kurian) who leads an ideal life by working for orphans but does not reveal his work to her. One day, Nishith captures the footage of murder and plans to sell it to a TV channel for a huge moolah. But, the footage drags him into trouble. What is that? What happens in his life? How he comes out? forms the rest.

Sumanth is a big disappointment in the movie. His make up is very bad and the hair wig looks artificial. Even though he is the central character of the film, his characterization is weak. The newcomer, Anju Kurian looked older than her age on the screen. All of the rest including Aditya Menon's role more or less are like guest appearances. Comedian Satya disappointed with poor comedy.

The

movie is technically poor probably due to the budget constraints. The songs and background music are disappointing. The cinematography by Balreddy is ordinary so is the editing by Garry. Production Values are disappointing. Director Anil Srikanth got Idam Jagath inspired by a Hollywood movie. He made the necessary changes to the script to make it suitable for our Telugu nativity. The concept of Nighttime Freelance Reporting is new but it has to have some suspense and thrilling elements to excite audiences. But, the director failed to bring out the desired output to the big screen with poor narration. The love track between hero and heroine is quite uninspiring and slow. In the second half, the twists are very few and the story also goes at a slow pace. Finally, Idam Jagath is a complete disappointment from Sumanth. Except for the concept lifted from a Hollywood film, nothing appeals.
