Cameraman Vijay Milton, has ventured into direction for the first time. He has crafted a touching love story, which is certain to entertain the youth, especially city girls. Actor and Director Cheran has produced the film, after he got impressed with the story.

The story revolves around Mano (Bharath), a young man living near Ooty and having a bakery business of his own. He comes to Chennai in search of his lover. He teams up with Jo or Jothi Lakshmi (Mallika Kapoor) to separate the lovers, Prem (Arun Kumar) and Nandhini (Deepu). Jo is madly in love with Prem, a Ranji cricketer and a businessman. Mano also claims that Nandhini, who is a television newsreader, to be his ladylove. The pranks that Jo and Mano play are really entertaining.

Finally they do succeed in separating Prem and Nandhini. Meanwhile Mano finds a soft corner with Prem and joins with him as a worker. At one stage Mano reveals the astonishing truth about the identity of his ladylove to Prem’s manager (Baskar). His mother (Renuka), wanted him to marry Jo, who was studying in Ooty. Mano also falls for her as their romantic first meeting starts with a kiss. So he had actually come in search of Jo. But finding her madly in love with Prem, he decides to fulfill his lover’s wish. Jo is unaware of all these.

Due to Mano’s persistent efforts, marriage is arranged for Prem and Jo. Mano is torn internally with despair. In the end Jo finds out that Mano had all along loved her. She is also confused and feels indecisive.

It is a gripping love story with enough emotion, fun, liveliness and fizz. It is like a fairy tale and has some glimpses of ‘Minsara Kanavu’. The usage of cartoons, captions, narrative voice and radio programmes are innovative. The Director could have been careful with the slow pace at certain places.

The music score is good and the picturisation of the songs are refreshing. Bharath and Mallika are naughty and effervescent. Bharath does well in emotional scenes too. Arun has put up a matured performance once again. The absence of gangsters, violence, sexy numbers etc. is a welcome sign.

It is nice youthful picture worth watching.
