Paasakiligal is all about bonding between siblings, a much-overused theme in Tamil films. DMK president M.Karunanidhi has scripted the story, screenplay and dialogues besides a few song lyrics for the movie.

Here goes the story...

Sethupathy (Prabhu) and his brother Sevathayya (Murali) are fond of their only sister Maragadham (Navya Nair) living in Melur village.

Vairaghya Bhoopathy (Nasser) is the chief of the neighboring village Aalur and the two families are rival for generations. But Maragadham falls for Nallarasu (Vineeth), brother of Bhoopathy.

Then comes Alakalan (Kalabhavan Mani) a schemer who wants to marry Maragadham. Both the brothers humiliate him and send him back. He ends up marrying Bhoopathy's sister Angayarkanni (Roja) but manager to create an enmity between the two families.

Meanwhile, dancer (Malavika) falls in love with Sethupathy. Alakalan has an eye on her as well. A turn of events results in Bhoopathy's suicide.

Now, Nallarasu takes revenge on Sethupathy who was responsible for his brother's death. So he marries Maragadham only to torture her.

The rest of the film is all about how Sethupathy and Sevathayya reveals the true color of Alakalan and as predicted all comes to a happy ending.

Prabhu in a tailor-made role has given a good performance. Murali after a long gap has made a come but has a limited scope to perform except for some stunt scenes.

Navya Nair who gave a memorable performance in Chidhambarathil Oru Appasamy is disappointing. Apart from appearing in song sequences, she has not contributed much to the film. The blame should squarely go to the director for not utilizing her properly.

Vadivelu's comedy is a big let down. It hardly evokes even a smile. Kalabhavan Mani as the villain is mediocre. Nasser, Manorama, Roja, Vineeth and Malavika lend adequate support to the film.

The first half of the move flows neatly, the second half falters. Director Amirdham should have taken care in editing which would have made the film better. Vidhyasagar's music is hummable. Cameraman Paneerselvam has done a good job.

This is a movie without a heart.
