The title of the film is Suntaragaali (Storm) and it is definitely related to the lyric of the popular song in the hugely successful film Kalasipalya featuring Darshan and Rakshitha. If you are looking for a film which is just like Kalasipalya' presenting the hero in larger than life image brandishing sword to take revenge on his opponents, you may well be disappointed. Suntaragaali' is different in this aspect. It is one film, which is a non-stop fun with all the commercial ingredients like action, dances thrown in. The film also presents Darshan in a totally different style. He is a slum dweller brought up in extremely ncomfortable and difficult environs but who has managed to keep his sense of humor. He speaks in the language spoken by the extremely down to earth slum dweller and has a mindset that matches people living in slums. But he is a fighter also who does not like people indulging in prostitution and selling spurious liquor. The different environs and ambience in the film is likeable or detestable as per the viewers taste. There is total lack of classy elements in the film and it is a pucca mass commercial entertainer.

The narration of Suntaragaali also include the political incidents that has happened recently in the state. The reference about the coalition government politics is thrown in good measure in the dialogues of the film. The political background in the film has added some variety to the film. The satirical narration has some cheap comedy sequences of Sadhu Kokila and Bullet Prakash, which may please, frontbenchers. Essentially the whole film is made for what the industry refers to as the mass audience. This is the positive and negative aspect of the film.

The story revolves around Jagga who is brought up by his foster parents, though this fact remains the best-kept secret. Jagga is a dare devil youngster who lives along with his friends brought up in slums. He enjoys the company of his friends who look for some fun and excitement. The group headed by Jagga is involved in doing some spare jobs for local political cum don Raja Huli (Rangayana Raghu). Jagga is also in love with Raja Huli's daughter Manju

Politically ambitious Raja Huli gets a ticket to fight a by election and he is opposed by a social worker Sharada. Raja Huli uses Jagga as a shield to do all sorts of things to win the election. After a few tiffs with the women social worker, Jagga will know that she is actually his mother and he has been brought up by his foster parents. He also realizes that Raja Huli is supported by his own father who is the health minister (Ashish Vidyarthi) in the coalition government. Jagga will come to know that his father had double crossed his mother and killed his grand parents. Ultimately Sharada wins the election with the support of Jagga and also exposes the criminal deeds of her husband.

Darshan as Jagga steals the show with his entirely new style of dialogue delivery and mannerisms.

Rangayana Raghu stands out in his performance as Raja Huli, though Ashish Vidyarthi looks wasted in the film. Seetha makes a dignified presence in the film.

Comedy sequences featuring Sadhu Kokila and Bullet Prakash are the highlight of the film. Anaji Nagaraj's camera work is O.K, but Sadhu could have composed some good songs in the film.Nannaane Nannaane is a well-choreographed song.

Suntaragaali is presented differently with all the necessary commercial elements like action and comedy thrown in good measure. But the film's ambience is in slums. It may be likeable or detestable according to your tastes. But as a film it has some positive technical values and good performances from artists.
