Akhanda 2 Movie Reviews
Critics are largely unanimous that Akhanda 2 struggles to live up to the impact of its predecessor. While Nandamuri Balakrishna’s commanding screen presence and a few devotional or self-aware moments in the first half draw attention, the film quickly unravels into a loud, chaotic, and illogical spectacle. Reviewers repeatedly point to weak narration, incoherent storytelling, and an overreliance on “mass” tropes and brand value rather than a solid script. Director Boyapati Srinu’s trademark excesses—thunderous action, exaggerated drama, and disregard for logic—feel increasingly tiresome here, with the second half drawing the most criticism for completely losing momentum. Even critics sympathetic to Balakrishna’s fan base note that the film tests patience and offers little beyond isolated moments of amusement.
Verdict:
Akhanda 2 is a sequel made almost exclusively for die-hard Balakrishna fans. For general audiences, its chaotic execution, weak writing, and overblown presentation outweigh its sporadic highs. Despite adequate resources, scale, and star power, the film ends up as a noisy, unfocused, and largely disappointing follow-up that fails to justify its existence beyond fandom appeal.
