"Pirappu" is claimed to be an off-beat film. The theme is - men are born equal and how life changes them as they grow up. Prabha debuts as the hero and Karthika plays opposite him. Bharadwaj is the music director. Balu Mahendra's son Shanky Mahenda is the cinematographer. Ilangovan is former assistant to directors like Bala and Nasser. He has made "Pirappu" independently.
