Snehanjali is an epoch making film just for one reason. It is for the first time in the film industry that a physically challenged person with speech and hearing inability has been in the leading role. He is Dhruv who is presently the captain of the Deaf and Dumb Indian Cricket team. And this multi talented personality is also a good actor and has loads of talent. This aspect in proved by his top line performance in his first film Snehanjali directed by Girish Kampalapur.

Snehanjali may not be the best film to come in recent times, but it is a lively presentation despite its drawbacks. The story is simple, straightforward, but it is the performances of the leading actor Dhruv and Anant Nag impresses the most in the film. And the brilliant camera work and enjoyable music have contributed in a good measure to make the film appealing. Snehanjali could have etched in the memory of Kannada film fans for a longer time if at all the script of the film could have been made a little stronger and the narration a little more lively.

Dhruv plays the role of Prem; an American returned youngster who accidentally meets Preethi and the first interaction is not rosy. Prem has a grouse against this incompatible girl. But destiny has other plans and the fathers of Prem and Preethi decide to get their children married. Because they are friends and want to cement their relationship further. Prem and Preethi decide to break the relationship and even succeed in their endeavor. But in the process they come nearer. And finally the warring couple decides to marry and what are their plans. Better watch the film.

There are moments when you feel bored of the proceedings, but Dhruv is the lively link of the whole film. And brilliant camera work of Vishnuvardhana and good composition of songs by Rajesh Ramanath is a major factor that works for the film. But Rajesh Ramnath can try to be original as he is really talented. One song of the film has the tunes that are similar to Kya Bolti Tu in Gulaam.

Dhruv shines throughout the film with his performance in the song and action sequences. He has romantic looks. Suneeta Verma could have done a better work. What can be told of an actor of the caliber of Anant Nag? He has done wonderful work in the film. Suresh Sharma has got more scope, but sometimes he is really torturous.

Snehanjali is a good film that has to be encouraged. And Dhruv should go places and do more characters of substance.
