Munna, traditionally a North Indian name, is a very unusual name of a Telugu movie. Normally such a name is not found anywhere in the homes of Telugu people. Chanti, Venky, Balu, Srinu, Anji, Babu, Bujji, Nani, Chitti, Seshu, Gopi, Satti Babu, Raju, are some of the common names of boys in Andhra and people from the cine industry have used it for the hero characters. But times are changing. Metros are becoming the melting pots of cultures. And it's good that people are embracing other cultures with open arms. So we have the central character of a Telugu movie being called as Munna.

Though the name sounds solid, Munna is not an impressive movie. The heavy star cast of Prabhas and Ileana gets no chance to click and they have a chemistry that works now and then. There is romance only for the sake of songs. The entire stress is on the revenge-oriented plot that goes from predictable to boring. And the same old villains in stereotyped slots do not rouse much enthusiasm.

Munna (Prabhas) is a college going young man. Rahul, the son of Khaka (Prakash Raj) studies in the same college. Khaka is an evil man that has amassed a lot of wealth through wrong means and Rahul is his spoilt brat. Inevitably Rahul and Munna clash in the campus. The clash escalates in to clashes between Munna and Khaka. And the entire story is about how Munna settles the score with Khaka. The only mystery is Khaka and Munna have an enmity that has a history. What exactly is that mystery? You will have to find that out.

Munna has more ketch up and ridiculous scenes. It's a typical mindlessly violent movie. The only consoling factor was one song "Manasa…". Otherwise Munna has nothing to offer, presence of Ileana not withstanding.
