Raja Bhaiya Hindi Movie

There are two ways you can approach a typical Govinda film. The first is the approach of the masses, who adore him -- who were incidentally missing en masse from the movie hall -- to leave your rational mind behind in the parking lot and have good laugh in the darker confines of the hall. The second is to dissect it end-to-end, cry over your precious money wasted till the last of your days.

Even after taking refuge in the approach of the masses, it was impossible to not notice, how the Govinda magic has considerably worn in Raja Bhaiya , not helped in the least by mediocre support from the rest of the cast, or the eminently forgettable half-a-dozen songs that litter the two-plus hour film.

The story line is based on the golden 'rustic-simpleton-with-golden-heart' theme and embellished considerably with large helpings of two older Hindi movies -- Sadma and Muskurahat .

The only saving grace (if there are any at all) is Govinda doing what he does best and Aarti Chhabria playing his love interest, with an irritating memory problem, to the very limited best that the script would allow her.

Technically, the film stands out a few meters ahead of your average Bollywood flick with editing that is not jarring, capping off the remarkably short glory list of an otherwise forgettable cinematic venture.

So if you still have any money left on you after spending on all those crackers, I would still ask you to think twice before giving this one a go. The crackers can still give you a better bang for you buck; leave this one for the die hard Govinda fan.
