Critics:
Neene Neene turns out to be an average fare mainly because of a weak script and poor narration.

Neene Neene was a much expected film before its release mainly because actor Shivadhwaj had turned director for the first time to wield the megaphone. The film deals with a serious subject like incompatibility problems of a married couple in the present scenario where both husband and wife are compelled to work in films. And finally the film ends in an optimistic note that problems created in the early days of marriage have to be solved amicably by the people concerned.

Shivadhwaj had a great opportunity to get his message right in the film. But he has failed to make an impressive debut by his weak handling of the film. There is no fresh approach in the narration of the film and Shivadhwaj has not tried to create any curiosity in the proceedings of the film. Shivadhwaj had every advantage of making the film better, but his main failing has been in the making of the script. Despite having some top technicians like photographer like Dinesh Baboo and Music director Sree Murali, Shivadhwaj has not been able to deliver a decent project. The only plus point of the film is that it is without the elements of violence and excessive glamour.

Shivadhwaj fails to make an impact in any sequence whether in the comedy focused sequences or the serious sequences that are seen in the second half.

Abhishek (Dhyaan) is a marketing executive who falls in love with rich girl Nandini (Aishwarya Nag) whom he meets accidentally. Then love blossoms in the couple who become closer after a few meetings. Then they decide to marry each other. Abhi decides to keep his wife in good humour and raises loans from many agencies to lead a comfortable life. His problems start soon after the marriage, when the creditors bump to him. And his attempt to help his friend by being a surety for the loan also lands him in trouble. Fissures develop between the husband and wife later. Nandu gives birth to the child, but the matters get worse thereafter which leads to separation.

Finally the estranged couple reunite in presence of Nandu's parents and a couple of friends. Sree Murali's music is pleasing with songs like Eno Idhu Eno and I am in Love having capabilities of becoming block busters. Dinesh Baboo has also done well behind the camera.

Chocolate hero Dhyan who has worked only in romantic roles has attempted to portray a different type of character in this film. He has put in hard efforts to look convincing in the role. But it is Aishwarya Nag who comes out good in her debut performance. Comedy actor Sharan offers good support in his role. Anant Nag has a small role, but still he makes an impact.

Neene Neene turns out to be an average fare mainly because of a weak script and poor narration.
