This is director Sanjai Ram's second movie after "Veeramum Eeramum" which brought him into the limelight. He has written the story, screenplay and dialogue himself for "Eyakkam" produced under the banner of Lingam Theatres. It is ready for release.

While "Veeramum Eeramum" was a full-length action flick, "Eyakkam" is a mix of action and comedy.

In a pre-release media interview, Sanjai Ram says the film has come out very well. "It's our hard labour".

The story is about a tussle between a Good Samaritan and a perverted villain. The concept is new and has relevance to the present context.

Though it is more than three decades since India won its independence, certain communities are still denied full freedom and rights. In a situation where no one dares to champion their cause, the protagonist, Rishikumar, comes forward and launches a movement called "Tamizhar Padai Eyakkam" to fight for the birth rights of the enslaved communities.

Pairing with Rishikumar are Srutiraj (wife) and Sujibala (girlfriend). Both show contrast in their respective roles and their acting talent is in full flow, Sanjai Ram says.

The role of villain, played by Sudhakar Vasanth, is not of a routine one. The conceptualization of this character is based on the medical advances made in the area of gynecology, to be specific, the caesarian procedure under which it is possible to have babies delivered on the appointed day and at the pre-set time. This procedure, which allows for the manipulation of horoscopes, is taken advantage of by the villain, Andavar, to increase his life span. He runs an asylum on the pretext of helping destitute pregnant women to serve his purpose. One such caesarian baby is Rishikumar whose horoscope is 'doctored' to favour Andavar. However, the villain is destined to be destroyed by the man whom he has brought up.

Kannada actor Marudamalai plays the second villain.

Sanjai Ram himself shows up as "Chinna Marudu".

The team of M.S. Bhaskar, Chittibabu and R. Sundarrajan is featured in as many as 20 comedy scenes. "Looty" by Bhaskar in the name of Muthukutty is really a riot, says the director.

Music director Praveenmani has already several tunes to his credit. On the top of the chart is the song "Alamaathu Alamaathu... Annathe! Azhagana Pennallam Anna Annu Chonna ... Alamaathu Alamaathu.." by Ilayakamban.
