Rajathi Raja Tamil Movie
Shakthi Chidambaram's "Rajaathi Raja" is such a bad film that the sequence of events in the movie would fail to convince even a three-year-old child.
Meant to titillate the audience through lewd dance numbers and double entendre, blood and gore have been added to bring in the crowds.
But the visuals are disconnected because several scenes are chopped off due to offensive language used in the narrative.
Supposed to render choreographer-director-turned-actor Lawrence commercially viable screen-property, these efforts only succeed in blotting his somewhat decent track-record.
The story revolves around Raja (Lawrence). His father's last wish was that his three elder siblings should become a cop, an honest doctor and conscientious lawyer. But the three do the exact opposite and become the sidekicks to a crooked drug-peddling vamp politician 'Saidai Sheila' (Mumtaz).
Raja wants to reform his siblings through violence and corny soliloquies that drag the movie towards its climax.
Devan's effort at cinematography can be described as continuous links of zooms forwards and backwards.
The director has tried to spice the proceedings with scantily clad Meenakshi, Kaamna and Snigdha and vulgar comedy and cacophony instead of music by Karunas. But it doesn't work.
Mumtaz is miscast as the smoking, villainous gang-leader, expressionless as an oyster.
