Director Dinesh Babu takes up too many responsibilities in making of his films, but yet his films have acquired certain level of brand value. He has directed many films with top stars and also fresh faces with equal applomb and has never compromised on the quality content of his films.

But his recent film Janumadha Gelathi is a big let down. The film is so badly made that you would refuse to believe that the film may be even remotely connected to Dinesh Babu.

And Dinesh Babu who has the knack of writing stories being inspired by many Malayalam and Hollywood films does the same again in Janumadha Gelathi. He has written the story heavily inspired by Balu Mahendra directed Malayalam film Yathra with Mammotty and Shobhana in the lead.

Like Mammotty in Yathra, Srinagara Kitty plays the role of a forest ranger in this film who gets into some serious problems before his marriage. And even the climax sequence is another repetition from Yathra. However the film's opening sequences have been lifted from Kamal Hassan's "Virmaandi' where in Kamal Hassan is interviewed by a television journalist. So much for the originality of Dinesh Babu.

And Janumadha Gelathi also suffers from a slow pace and an uninteresting narration. The first half nearly tests your patience many a times. And there are lot of incidents that are happening in the second half, but they are all badly handled. And even in the second half, you are helplessly watching intercenine underworld fights and gory murders.

Dinesh Babu has not been helped by his music director V.Manohar. Except for one song Noorondu Maathu, the others lack good composition value. And all the songs are badly choreographed. Srinagara Kitty has tried to deliver a convincing performance in his role, but what can he do when the whole screen play is weak. And Pooja Gandhi is seen without the make up in the attire of village girl. She is also handicapped because of lack of opportunities to show case her performance in the film. And all the other artists of the film are monotonous.

Janumadha Gelathi is a badly made film and you can easily miss this film.
