Sherni (HINDI)
Vidya Balan , Vijay Raaz , Neeraj Kabi Ila Arun
Director: Amit Masurkar

User Rating:
Amit V. Masurkar's Sherni works as an efficient warning against the bureaucracy's anti-conservation behavior. Sherni is not the first film to suggest that animals beyond the forest are more savage than those in it, but it may be the most intelligent of its kind. In Vidya Balan, it has just the right actor for holding it together as both a human and animal story. Read Review

Sardar Udham (HINDI)

Director: Shoojit Sircar

Critic Rating:
User Rating:
Shoojit Sircar's Sardar Udham on Amazon Prime is based on the life of freedom fighter Udham Singh. The film takes way too long to get going but benefits greatly from the authenticity of the makers and the conviction of Vicky Kaushal as Udham. Read Review
Haseen Dillruba (HINDI)
Taapsee Pannu , Vikrant Massey , Harshvardhan Rane Daya Shankar Pandey
Director: Vinil Mathew
Trailer |
Critic Rating:
User Rating:
It appears that Haseen Dillruba has more depth on paper, but director Vinil Mathew treats the film with pulp, like how, say, an Abbas Mastan would. Nevertheless, the performances from the lead actors make it a rather believable watch. Read Review

Shershaah (HINDI)
Sidharth Malhotra , Kiara Advani , Javed Jaffrey Paresh Rawal
Director: Vishnu Vardhan
Trailer |
Critic Rating:
User Rating:
Vishnuvardhan's Shershaah is about Kargil War hero and Indian Army Captain Vikram Batra. While seldom spectacular and mostly generic, Shershaah is a respectable entry in the Indian war film genre nevertheless. Sidharth Malhotra plays the titular character with qualities that befit an Army man, whereas the makers avoid oft-repeated mistakes in movies like this. Read Review
Pagglait (HINDI)
Sanya Malhotra , Sayani Gupta , Ashutosh Rana Raghubir Yadav
Director: Umesh Bist
Trailer |
Critic Rating:
User Rating:
Pagglait is a refreshing take on the usual new widow situation in a patriarchal Indian family. The film moves at a leisurely pace, with the occasional humor and often-serious moments. Yet, it never turns into a sappy film thanks mainly to the tender filmmaking approach and the charming lead played by Sanya Malhotra. Read Review
The White Tiger (HINDI)
Adarsh Gourav , Priyanka Chopra , Rajkummar Rao Aaron Wan
Director: Ramin Bahrani
Trailer |
Critic Rating:
User Rating:
Ramin Bahrani's The White Tiger is a flawed yet fascinating look at India's casteism and class divide. The Netflix movie is based on Arvind Adiga's novel of the same title. It does not quite attain perfection, but even amid all of its flaws, it never ceases to be compelling thanks to Adarsh Gourav's magnetic performance. Read Review

Mimi (HINDI)
Kriti Sanon , Pankaj Tripathi , Sai Tamhankar Manoj Pahwa
Director: Laxman Utekar
Trailer |
Critic Rating:
User Rating:
Mimi is a well-intentioned yet saccharine film about surrogacy and motherhood. A lot of it may be enjoyable, but little seems authentic and perceptive enough here. It is also a message movie for those who want their films to be too sweet and sentimental with easy conflicts and easy resolutions. Read Review
The Big Bull (HINDI)
Abhishek Bachchan , Ileana , Sohum Shah Nikita Dutta
Director: Kookie Gulati
Trailer |
Critic Rating:
User Rating:
Kookie Gulati's The Big Bull is based on the life of Harshad Mehta, stockbroker and mastermind behind a big financial scam from the past. There has already been a web series based on this tale. There is a difference between what you can tell in a web series and a feature film. So, the makers of The Big Bull rush through many plot elements that show how the stock market operates and how Mehta becomes the big bull. Abhishek Bachchan is convincing as the big bull Hemant Shah, though. Read Review

14 Phere (HINDI)
Vikrant Massey , Kriti Kharbanda , Yamini Das Gauahar Khan
Director: Devanshu Singh
Trailer |
Critic Rating:
User Rating:
Devanshu Singh's 14 Phere is a ridiculous movie that treats a sensitive subject as how an over-the-top comedy film director would. The movie seems to be confused about whether to treat itself as a satire, or a big fat Indian wedding film with happy-go-lucky characters. Read Review
Kaagaz (HINDI)
Pankaj Tripathi , Sandeepa Dhar , Amar Upadhyay Monal Gajjar
Director: Satish Kaushik
Trailer |
Critic Rating:
User Rating:
For a movie that talks about the power of the written word, little in Satish Kaushik's Kaagaz seems powerful or inspired. It is one of those by-the-numbers biopics that could have worked more if the writing was up to it. Watchable and well-intentioned, this Kaagaz is a story better told on paper. Read Review
