Syam Dhar's directorial debut '7th Day' is arresting and clever for the most part, though it could have been a drum tight thriller had it covered up the potholes in its script. As such the gut punches that it delivers are quite powerful and the twists and turns tempting.

I wouldn't really blame the viewer for feeling stranded while watching Arun Kumar Aravind's '1 by Two'. What starts off as a psychological thriller with immense potential winds itself up in loops and loops of complexities until it becomes almost impossible to untangle itself from the knots that threaten to strangle the very last bit of thrill out of it.

Kunchacko Boban plays Poly in M Padmkumar's 'Polytechnic' which aspires to be rollicking entertainer set on a politically charged milieu, but ends up nothing of the sort. Riddled with done to death scenarios, 'Polytechnic' might be considered as a nontoxic film that neither excites you with its brightness nor nauseates you with offensiveness of any sort.
