'I would like to bring Ilayaraja and PC Sreeram in my film'

Director Venkat Prabhu will soon have his Chennai 28 sequel called as Chennai-28 Second Innings release on 10th November. He met the press a couple of days back and addressed the media.

To one of the questions, he said that he was very keen to bring Ilayaraja and PC Sreeram in his film. He said, “My long nurtured dream is to make a film with PC Sreeram sir and Ilayaraja appa. In fact, after Mani Ratnam sir, I wanted this super combo for my film. I even met PC sir. Somehow, it didn’t work out. But, I will definitely pursue it and work on that script!”

About late Vaali’s lyrics, he reminisces fondly, “Vaali sir’s lyrics were the biggest asset for our original version. I miss him so much. Vaali’s magical combination with Yuvan Shankar Raja is well known. Yuvan has done a great job in this film too. The fun-filled highlight song Swapna Sundari which is penned by me, is rendered by Yuvan, Karthik Raja, Premgi and myself”.
