144 is a comedy film about clash between two villages

First time director Manikandan has completed the shoot of his upcoming film, 144, which has Shiva and Ashok Selvan in the lead.


About the title of his film, Manikandan says, “144 denotes a section of law in our constitution. But the film has nothing to do with violence or any serious issue. The film is about the clash between two villages, which is treated in a very comical way.”


Manikandan further states that the story is inspired from a real incident. About the actors in this film, he says that Shiva plays a role of a chain snatcher, who has his own ethics. He doesn't have any punch dialogues in the film, like his earlier projects. His character is something new. Ashok Selvan plays a role of a car driver, who is also an aspiring car racer.
