Photographer Ebrid Shine is debuting as director with the film 1983. The film is about the upswing that a small village in Kerala witnessed after India won the 1983 Cricket World Cup. Nivin Pauly is the hero of the film and Anoop Menon is acting as the cricket coach. Nicki Gil Rani is the heroine. The film has Jacob Grigary, Joy Mathew, Saiju Kurup, Sanju, Nandan, Dinesh Nair, Prajod and Seema G Nair in important roles. T.R. Sahmsudhin produces the film under the banner of Shamus Films.
