2.0 release postponed?

The mega event of the audio release of 2.0 happened in Dubai recently. The film directed by Shankar and featuring Superstar Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar, Amy Jackson and others was supposed to release for the Republic Day weekend in January 2018.

However, there appears to be a change in the release date. Looks like the film may hit the screens for the Tamil New Years Day in April 2018. The reasons reported in the film circuit attribute to the heavy CG work in the film.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar’s Hindi film PadMan, based on the life of the social activist Arunachalam Padmanabhan who made sanitary pads much viable for the rural women, is announced to release for the 26th January 2018. Since two films of the actor releasing on the same date may prove counterproductive for both the films, the decision to postpone may have been taken. Stay tuned to this space and we will update you.
