
5 Malayalam movies in Habitat Festival
May 23, 2017 SJ5 Malayalam movies will be showcased in the 17th Habitat Film Festival to be conducted in Delhi from May 19 - 28. Adoor Gopalakrishnan’s ‘Pinneyum’, Jayaraj’s ‘Veeram’, Vidhu Vincent’s ‘Manhole’, Lijo Pellisserry’s ‘Angamaly Diaries’ and Vyasan K P’s ‘Ayal Jeevichirippunde’ are the five films.
Adoor Gopalakrishnan’s ‘Pinneyum’ is a crime drama starring Dileep and Kavya Madhavan in the lead roles. Jayaraj’s ‘Veeram’, an adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Macbeth”, is set in the backdrop of the ancient martial culture of Kerala.
Vidhu Vincent’s ‘Manhole’ depicts the life and struggles of a manual scavenger's daughter. ‘Angamaly Diaries’ directed by Lijo Jose Pellisserry is a realistic tale of the local people and their life at Angamaly.
‘Ayal Jeevichirippunde’ is the debut directorial venture of scenarist-producer Vyasan K P. The film which narrates a different story of friendship features Vijay Babu and Manikantan in the main roles.
