This National Award-winning director has added a few more feathers in his cap with his latest film Visaranai. Director Vetrimaaran’s Visaranai won Best Tamil Film at the 63rd National Film Awards. It also won actor-director Samuthirakani the Best Supporting Actor Award and Late TE Kishore the Best Editing Award.

TE Kishore had earlier won a National Award for Best Editing again for director Vetrimaaran’s Aadukalam in 2011. (Incidentally, Vetrimaaran also won a National Award for Best Director for Aadukalam) Unfortunately, Kishore, who was just 36, passed away unexpectedly in March 2015. He was diagnosed with a blood clot in the brain and despite surgery, he passed away on March 6.
