Aamir Khan down with Swine Flu, Shah Rukh Khan attends Satyamev Jayate event on his behalf

Aug 7, 2017 Abhishree Kulkarni

The ‘Thugs Of Hindostan’ actor, Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao are diagnosed with Swine Flu, which has forced them be under house arrest till they recover completely. This meant that they had to even skip the Satyamev Jayate event organised by their NGO – Paani Foundation – in Pune.

But guess who came to Aamir’s rescue and filled in for him at the Satyamev Jayate Water Cup 2017 prize distribution program, which was also attended by other dignitaries like Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and founder of Reliance Foundation, Nita Ambani? None other than Shah Rukh Khan.

Aamir Khan requested the 'Jab Harry Met Sejal' star to fill in for him and Shah Rukh readily agreed to be part of such a noble event.

Satyamev Jayate looks out for social causes and is hosted and produced by actor Aamir Khan. Satyamev Jayate was holding the Paani Awards 2017 for this cause where it felicitates farmers making a difference. The initiative is to help build a drought free Maharashtra with the help of the farmers of the areas.

Later, SRK took to Twitter and wrote, “Thx Aamir & Kiran for giving me the honour to stand in for u. Devendra Fadnavis, ur concern for farmers is touching.”

We would say even SRK’s sweet gesture was touching too. And here’s wishing Aamir and Kiran a speedy recovery.
