Aashiq Abu to direct Rima again

Aashiq Abu will direct his life partner Rima Kallingal in his new movie titled ‘Oppana’. The movie is based on the folk song “Mahiyile pennungale kandikka…”.

Meanwhile heated discussions are happening on the social networking sites about the origin of this song. Some say this song is a copy of ‘Kasarodathe chekkenmare kandina…’ which is the original song. Aashiq himself came forward to clarify the matter on his facebook page. He downplayed the confusion and controversy surrounding the song and the movie.

The other actors are mainly new faces. Venugopal Ramachandran who works in the ad field pens the script for the movie. ‘Oppana’ is a female-centric movie. Bijibal is the music director.

Aashiq posted on his Facebook page – “My next will be with Rima Kallingal in the lead along with some new faces. Based on a song “Mahiyile pennungale kandikka…”?. Venugopal Ramachandran Nair handling the writing part and Bijibal Maniyil doing the Music. Will update the details very soon”.
