Actor KTS Padannayil dies

Actor KTS Padannayil (Subramanian) passed away on Thursday morning due to age-related diseases. He was 88. The actor has been undergoing treatment for a few days at a hospital near Kadavanthra, Kochi.


KTS, who rose to fame through the films of director Rajasenan, had his own style of acting especially while enacting comedy roles. He came to films from drama world. His debut film was Rajasenan's "Aniyan Bava Chettan Bava" in which he enthralled the audience with his inimical laugh and body language.


"Varthakyapuranam", "Aadyathe Kanmani", "Kottappurathe Koottukudumbam", "Rakshadhikari Baiju Oppu", "Kunjiramayanam", "Kadhanayakan", and "Amar Akbar Antony" are some of his films as an actor.


During his autumn days, KTS was struggling to make both ends meet and he was running a small shop at Thripunnithara to eke out a living.


His wife Remani passed away a few years ago. The actor is survived by one daughter and three sons.
