Actor Sathar passes away

Actor Sathar died on Tuesday early morning. The actor had been undergoing treatment for liver-related ailment at Palliative Care, Aluva. He was 67.

Born at Kadungalloor in Ernakulam, Sathar was active in filmdom in the 1970s. He made his debut in 1976 with the film ‘Anavaranam’, directed by Vincent. Sathar played villain roles in many films. He got married to actress Jayabharathi and later they got divorced. Actor Krish J Sathar is their son.

He has acted around 148 films. The actor’s last film was ‘Parayan Baakki Vachathu’ (2014). He has been in the industry for more than 45 years and made a comeback after a brief hiatus with ‘22 Female Kottayam’.

His major films include ‘Chanda’, Yadhavam’, ‘Janma Sathru’, ‘Ithrayum Kalam’, ‘Avalude Kadha’, ‘Revenge’, ‘Vellam’, ‘Mainakam,’ ‘Mazhu’, and ‘Belt Mathai’ etc.
