Actress Kalpana passes away

Actress Kalpana, elder sister of Oorvashi passed away early this morning on the 25th of January at Hyderabad. She was said to have been admitted in Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad where she breathed her last. It was said that she was shooting for Karthi starter Thozha when she fell unconscious and then she was taken to the hospital. She is reported to have died due to cardiac arrest.

A talented actress, she has won the National Award for the Best Supporting Actress for her performance in a Malayalam film titled Thanichalla Njan. She was last seen in the Sivakarthikeyan starrer Kaakki Sattai in Tamil and earlier on she has acted in Tamil films like Chinna Veedu, Sathi Leelavathi, Pammal K Sambandham, Dum Dum Dum and Idhaya Thirudan.

Kalpana was 51 and is survived by her husband and daughter. Her mortal remains will be brought to Kerala, her home town where the funeral is expected to take place tomorrow, the 26th January.
