Aishwarya Rai and Ram Charan in talks for Mani Ratnam's next

May 29, 2017 JB

Director Mani Ratnam’s latest outing Kaatru Veliyidai was met with a mixed response and the film was considered as a flop by trade pundits. Right now, the director is said to be involved in the pre-production for his next.

The buzz in the industry seems to suggest that it would be trilingual in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi and that Ram Charan and Aishwarya Rai have been approached for this film.

Apparently, when Aishwarya Rai was asked in a media interaction at the Cannes, regarding her next, she is supposed to have mentioned that she has listened to a few scripts and one of them is from Mani Ratnam. It has to be recalled that Aishwarya was introduced to Tamil through Mani Ratnam’s Iruvar and she further followed it up with Guru and Raavan. Sources close to the director claim that things are yet to be finalized but the talks are on.
