Ajayan Venugopalan: A busy scenarist

Techie and scenarist Ajayan Venugopalan is so busy these days. He is the script writer of Mohanlal-starrer ‘Peruchazhi’ and Shyamaprasad’s upcoming movie ‘Ivide’. A major part of both these movies are shot in America.

Ajayan Venugopalan made his way to Malayalam industry with ‘Akkarakazhchakal’, a popular sitcom on the lives of Malayalee diaspora in the United States, which he wrote and co-directed. He made his debut as a scenarist with Shyamaprasad’s ‘English’, a tale of Malayalees living in London.

His second movie ‘Peruchazhi’, directed by Arun Vaidyanathan, is a political satire which casts Mohanlal and Mukesh as politicians. ‘Peruchazhi’ is produced by Vijay Babu and Sandra Thomas under the banner of Friday Films.

Ajayan’s next project ‘Ivide’ is a crime thriller set against an IT company and its employees. According to Ajayan, ‘Ivide’ will be different from the other movies of Shyamaprasad in terms of the genre and the presentation. ‘Ivide’ has Prithviraj and Fahad Fazil in the two lead roles.
