Akkineni Nageswara Rao passes away

Veteran Telugu actor, Dr. Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR), passed away yesterday night. He was 91 years and was undergoing treatment for cancer at the Care hospital. His son Nagarjuna had confirmed the death news. He said that ANR was happy till the last minute and he spoke to everyone till his last minutesANR’s body will be brought to the Annapurna Studios at 9:30am today morning so that the fans can pay their respects.


ANR was born on Sept 20, 1924 in Venkataraghavapuram. He debuted with the movie Dharmapatni in 1941. He had acted in 250 movies and his last film was Manam. The film is yet to be released.


Dr. ANR is a recipient of Padma Vibhushan, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award and the Raghupathi Venkaiah award.
