Akshay Kumar in Hindi Arrambam

Nov 12, 2013 SV

Remakes are the flavour of the season in Bollywood! Many films from South India are being remade and are turning out to be successful as well. Director Priyadarshan started this trend of remaing South movies in Bollywood and the success streak continued with films like Ghajini. Now it is heard that Bollywood hero Akshay Kumar is keen on remaking Ajith’s Arrambam. He has seen the film and is said to have decided to take the remake rights and make the Hindi version.

Meanwhile Akshay Kumar is busy with two more remakes, those of Thupakki and Ramana. It is notable that his last two films Rowdy Rathod and Boss were also remakes of South Indian hits. In 1980s it was Bollywood hero Jitendra who understood the potential of remaking South films, and now it is Akshay Kumar’s turn to weave the box office magic with remakes of South Indian movies.

Thupakki is being remade in Hindi by AR Murugadoss while Ramana is being remade by Telugu director Krish. It seems that Vishnuvardhan might be doing the Hindi version of Arrambam as well.
