Amitabh's character in ‘Kalki 2898 AD' revealed

Actor Amitabh Bachchan will be essaying the role of Ashwatthama, the immortal son of Drona from the Mahabharata, in the upcoming dystopian fantasy adventure film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. The new teaser of this Prabhas-starrer film has introduced Amitabh’s character, who is seen praying in front of a Shiva linga at a temple inside a cave.

Clad in mud-stained clothes and a mask covering his face, the mysterious worshipper reveals his identity to a child, saying, “Since ancient times, I have awaited the arrival of the Avatar. I am Guru Drona’s son. Ashwatthama.”

“The time has come…My final battle begins now,” says Ashwatthama in the teaser as he wields a stick with a furious look.

Directed by Nag Ashwin, the movie also stars Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani and Kamal Haasan in key roles. Santhosh Narayanan has composed music for the film, while the cinematography is done by Djordje Stojiljkovic.
