Anurag Kashyap turns to Revising Committee to fight 'A' certificate for 'Bombay Velvet'

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, whose "Bombay Velvet" has been granted an 'A' certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), says he will approach the Revising Committee as he does not consider the period drama an "adult film".

"I will be sending the film to the Revising Committee. I have faith in them... It's not an adult film," Anurag, who once had a run-in with the censor board over the use of anti-smoking disclaimers, told IANS.

He said three to four cuts have been suggested by the CBFC for "Bombay Velvet", a crime drama set in the 1960s.

Featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar in key roles, and co-produced by Vikas Bahl and Vikramaditya Motwane of Phantom Films, along with Fox Star Studios, the film is slated to release on May 15.

Kashyap is hopeful the Revising Committee will ensure timely and right certification for the film. The film's team is currently in Goa for a one-of-a-kind two-day promotional event, which began on Monday. Click the Movie button below for more info:
