‘Ariku' goes on floors

The maiden film produced by the Kerala State Development Corporation (KSFDC) for Kerala Government under the initiative to support aspiring filmmakers from SC/ST communities was launched in Thiruvananthapuram last week.

Titled ‘Ariku’, the film is directed by journalist-turned-filmmaker VS Sanoj. Minister for Welfare of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes Shri K Radhakrishnan performed the switch-on for the film at Kalabhavan Theatre. Minister for Transport Shri Antony Raju presided over the function, which was attended by KSFDC Chairman Shri Shaji N Karun.

Minister for Cultural Affairs Shri Saji Cheriyan inaugurated the function. KSFDC MD Smt N Maya, IFS; Director of ST Development Department Smt T V Anupama; filmmaker Dr Biju; actor Senthil Krishna and KSFDC Board Member Smt Bhagyalakshmi, were also present.

Actor Dhanya Ananya of ‘Jana Gana Mana’ fame clicked the clapboard for the flick. ‘Ariku’ was selected by KSFDC from 79 entries it received as part of the project, launched last year.
