'August 16, 1947' release announced

The makers of the film ‘August 16, 1947’ today announced its release date. The film’s producer and filmmaker AR Murugadoss took to his Twitter page and revealed the release date.

According to his tweet, the film will hit the big screens worldwide on April 7. “Exciting news! My next production film #1947August16 is all ready to hit the big screens on “APRIL 7th”- WORLDWIDE. Get ready to travel back to a time of courage, love and hope!” he tweeted.

The film, which tells a story of the freedom struggle, features Gautham Karthik, Revathy, and Pugazh et.al. Co-produced by Om Prakash Bhatt and Narsiram Choudhary, the movie is written and directed by NS Ponkumar.

Apart from Tamil, the film will have Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, Malayalam and English versions.
