Bala's next will be a multi-starrer

Director Bala who is known for heart wrenching films such as Sethu, Pithamagan, Paradesi is currently in the post-production phase of Thara Thappattai which incidentally is maestro Ilayaraja’s 1000th film. This film talks about the folk arts of Tamil Nadu like Karagam and features Sasikumar, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and others.

Meanwhile Bala has started work on his next film which would be a multi-starrer that is said to feature Arya, Vishal, Arvind Swami, Atharvaa and Rana. A multi-starrer is very rare in Tamil cinema and heroes generally don’t prefer it although it is a very normal thing in Bollywood and Hollywood.

With the cast list such as this, expectations are already on the high. It is said that pre-production work is going on in a brisk phase now and the film will go on floors after Pongal 2016 around which his Thara Thappattai is also expected to release.
