Basil Joseph's 'Godha' – A woman-centric film

Basil Joseph’s second directorial venture ‘Godha’ is a woman-centric movie set in the backdrop of wrestling. Punjabi actress Wamiqa Gabbi does the lead role of a wrestler.


This is Wamiqa’s debut Malayalam movie; she has acted in Punjabi, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu films. ‘Godha’ will go on floors later this month. Ottappalam, Palani, Chhattisgarh, and Punjab are the main locations.


Tovino Thomas and Renji Panicker also play major roles as wrestlers. Tovino, Renji Panicker, and Wamiqa underwent training in wrestling as a preparation for the film.


Rakesh Manthodi, the scenarist of Vineeth Sreenivasan’s ‘Thira’ is the script writer of ‘Godha’. The movie is produced under the banner E 4 Entertainment.
