Benedict Cumberbatch to play Hamlet on stage

London, March 27 (IANS) Actor Benedict Cumberbatch will portray Hamlet on stage.

The "Sherlock" star will feature as Hamlet in William Shakespeare's classic tragedy during a 12-week production at Barbican Theatre in London, reports eonline.com.

Tickets for the show will go on sale in May and performances will begin next August.
