Big B becomes first Indian to receive honorary doctorate from Egypt's Academy of Arts

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan feels "humbled and "honoured" to have received an honorary doctorate from the Egyptian Academy of Arts for his contribution to cinema.

He took to micro-blogging site Twitter to share the news.

Along with a photograph, the 72-year-old tweeted: "Prestigious Academy of Art in Cairo, decorates me a Hon Doctorate... humbled and honoured. First for India !!"

This is the first time that the Academy of Arts has given a doctorate to an international actor.
