Divyendu 'Liquid' Sharma not worried about competition

Mumbai, June 16 (IANS) There is a deluge of newcomers into filmdom and "Pyaar Ka Punchnama" fame Divyendu Sharma does not feel the heat of the competition as he thinks that there are enough directors and banners for everyone.

"I don't really think about the competition. I just want to do good work. I have been fortunate that even though I am not from a filmy background, the industry has accepted me. So I don't want to disappoint (the audience)," Divyendu told IANS.

"I don't think of competition. There are so many directors and stories, so every one has a part to play in the industry," added the actor, who also featured in David Dhawan directed "Chashme Baddoor" and rubbed the shoulder with senior actors like Rishi Kapoor, Anupam Kher and Lilette Dubey.

He feels that for newcomers "understanding the industry is difficult".

"Marketing has become such an innate thing, so you have to think of that and the production house. All this you don't think as an actor, but once you start working, it all becomes normal," he said.

Usually the beginners are in awe of senior actors.

"You meet big people like Rishi Kapoor or Jackie Shroff and realise that they are as normal as an individual as you are," he said.

If viewers enjoyed seeing him as Liquid in "Pyaar Ka Punchnama", they also appreciated his work in "Chashme Baddoor".

With positive responses come great responsibility, Divyendu feels.

"I have been fortunate that people liked my character in both the films. It is a big advantage, but it puts pressure on you as you can't let them down. I am thankful that people consider me as a new age sensible actor," he said.

Divyendu will next be seen in "Zaalim Dilli" opposite Ira Dubey. Click the Movie button below for more info:
