Paresh Rawal feels marketing important for survival

Mumbai, Dec 21 (IANS) While the intrinsic worth of a film will decide whether it is accepted or rejected by audiences, marketing does have a role to play. So believes veteran actor Paresh Rawal.

Paresh, who was at the music launch of his next film "Table No. 21" in the city, said you have to do aggressive marketing to survive in the market.

"Table No. 21", which is set for a Jan 4 release, has been written and directed by Aditya Dutt and stars Rajeev Khandelwal and Tena Desae.

"Marketing has become aggressive today, so if you have to stand in the market, then you have to do it. I would like to promote (the film) in the electronic and print media, because I believe they are very meaningful," said the actor, still basking in the afterglow of the success of his last venture "Oh My God".

And in tune with rationalist argument of "Oh My God", he dismissed the suggestion that having a number in the title of a film would help in its success.

"The title of the film has not been finalised keeping the number in the mind, and it's not as if a film's title with some number will become a hit. He has written a good script. So he has believed in the script and not the number," Paresh said. Click the Movie button below for more info:
