Prasoon Joshi launches book

Jaipur, Jan 25 (IANS) Lyricist Prasoon Joshi, Friday, launched his book "Sunshine Lanes", a compilation of the lyrics written by him in the past decade, at the ongoing Jaipur Literature Festival.


The book includes the lyrics of the songs he has written in as many as 60 films and music albums. It will be accompanied a page, which will describe the thought process behind it, an anecdote or a perspective.


"It was an amazing experience to launch my book at Jaipur Literature festival today. I have tried and complied my work from the past 10 years and I penned down the thought process behind each song. It really feels that I have contributed something to our Indian culture," Joshi said in a statement


Joshi's poetry and songs have developed a mass connect. He has written lyrics of the songs like "Gore gore se chode" ("Hum Tum"), "Chand sifarish" ("Fanaa"), "Maa" ("Taare Zameen Par"), "Masakali" ("Delhi 6"), "Shukran Allah" ("Kurbaan") among others.


He had also written lyrics for albums like "Silk Route", "Ab Ke Sawan" etc.
