Rehane presents Summer Bride at LFW

Mumbai, March 22 (IANS) Fashion designer Rehane's collection, showcased Friday at the Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) summer-resort 2013 here, had a unique blend of Indian and modern flavour for women, looking forward to the wedding season in the summer season.


"I have tried to concentrate on a more Indian look. I have displayed net saris which are glamorous," Rehane told the media.


The collection includes saris, as well as long and knee-length dresses.


Describing her concept for the line, she said: "It was a battle between market and creativity. I am an artistic and highly creative person. These collections are more subtle compared to the other bridal collections."


The designer added that she tried to find a balance between commercial viability and artistic beauty in her garments.


"I tried to blend the commercial aspect with artistic expression," she said.


Her show started with cute, modern dresses with embroidery and moved to a more traditional attires towards the end, with net saris with detailed embroidery and cut work.


The ongoing edition of LFW will end March 26.
