No, no, the rich Kapoor lad wasn’t exactly broke in Morocco, but Ranbir Kapoor was sport enough to actually go on the streets and ask money from people to ensure that his act in his upcoming film ‘Jagga Jasoos’ looks authentic.

In the recently released quirky song from ‘Jagga Jasoos’, ‘Ullu Ka Pattha’, one gets to Katrina Kaif and Ranbir grooving on the streets of Morocco. In a particular scene, Ranbir is seen collecting money from the onlookers for their performance.

Apparently, before shooting this scene the ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ actor was actually told by director Anurag Basu, to beg money from the pedestrians for their dance. This was done as a method acting exercise so as to help Ranbir get into the skin of his character.

The versatile director Anurag Basu was quoted saying “Yes, it’s true that I had asked Ranbir to hold a cap and ask around for money for the song, and people did start putting money in it. Can you believe it Ranbir collected 250-300 Morocco Dirhams! So in the song, Ranbir is genuinely collecting money while dancing from real people!”

As a part of their groundwork Anurag Basu and his assistants also danced on the streets of Morocco prior to the shoot in order to see if it gathered a crowd. Interestingly, they were soon surrounded by pedestrians who wanted to watch their performance.

Looks like the whole team has really worked hard on the film. We must say the whole crew including Ranbir have a great sporting spirit.

‘Jagga Jasoos’ will hit the screens on 14 July.
