Case against Jyothika

The teaser of the Bala directorial Naachiyaar had been released recently and it has been in the center of a storm since then. Although the teaser had the typical Bala style of intense drama and filmmaking, the end of it when Jyothika in a cop uniform using an abusive word, has attracted a lot of negative attention.


Reacting to this, a car driver on Friday (24th November) filed a case against the 36 Vayadhinilae actress at the Mettupalayam Judicial Magistrate court for using abusive words denigrating women in a movie. In his complaint, Rajan, the driver, said the teaser of the film Naachiyar, directed by Bala, where Jyothika, acting as a police official, was using abusive language against a culprit, which was totally denigrating women and hurting their sentiments. “This has appeared in various social media,” he said.


Using such language is punishable under Sections 294 (B) of IPC (uttering obscene words) and 67 of IT Act (publishing obscene material in electronic form), Rajan said in his petition, filed through his lawyer Rahamuttulah. Click the Movie button below for more info:
