If there was one film, which one thought would not suffer the wrath of censor board, it was definitely Akshay Kumar’s ‘Toilet - Ek Prem Katha’, which revolves around an important social issue. But surprisingly, the film which is about ‘Swach Bharat’ has also come under the scrutiny of CBFC.

The film starring Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar deals with the issue of sanitation and aims to create awareness about this crucial social aspect. However, the censor board has decided to overlook this and is instead looking out for loopholes.

According to a source the censor board has issues with a few scenes and words that Akshay’s character in the film uses. The source said, “In one sequence, Akshay Kumar is heard telling his screen-wife, ‘Tumne mujhe teen baar jagaya hai. Main koi saand hoon kya (you’ve woken me up thrice…am I a bull?)’. There is one more scene where, Akshay goes to pee with sacred janao around his years and the board has a problem with that too. Furthermore, four expletives including ‘haraami’ have been issued out of the film.”

The source further claimed that these verbal cuts may affect the organic touch of the film as it is based in a rural set up.

Akshay and Bhumi have been promoting the film rigorously and also creating awareness about sanitation. The film will be realizing on 11th August.
