Chiranjeevi comes in the defense of Salman Khan

Chiranjeevi and Salman Khan share good relations since they endorsed Thums Up in Telugu and Hindi respectively. In the event of Salman Khan getting 5 years jail term in the 2002 hit and run case, Chiranjeevi came in the defense of Salman Khan.

Speaking to scribes after the judgement, Chiranjeevi said "It is not an intentional one, its an accident. Courts should note it. It hurts me to see the plight of my friend. But I hope he will find some respite in high court". He even said that Salman Khan will some how complete all his film commitments.
