Cinematographer Utpal. V. Nayanar turns director

Utpal. V. Nayanar, who has worked in a number of films in Malayalam as a cameraman, is set to make his debut as a filmmaker. The shooting for his debut film as director,“Nilavariyathe,” was held at Pala and Kanhangad recently.

Bala, Sudheer Karamana, Santhosh Keezhattoor, Sajitha Madathil, Indrans, Anumol and Shivani are the major characters in “Nilavariyathe,” which tells a story that happened 100 years ago.

Sajan Kalathil handles the cinematography and Kanhangad Ramachandran composes music for the lyrics of Kaithapram. Suraaj Mavila is the scenarist.

The film is being produced by Biju. V. Mathai and Kunhambu Nair Bethur under the banner Thulunadan Creations. Editing by P.C. Mohan and art direction by Manu Jacob.
