Clean India campaign a beautiful thought by our PM: Aamir

Actor-producer Aamir Khan on Thursday said the "Clean India" campaign is a beautiful thought by our PM, and he would be glad to be a brand ambassador for it, while appealing everyone to join it.

The actor was present on Rajpath where Prime Minister Narendra Modi administered an oath to everyone to help keep India clean, after launching the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

"It is a beautiful thought that the prime minister has come up with. We must ensure the dream of a clean India is realised before the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi", Aamir said.

"I would be very happy if I am given this responsibility", the actor commented about being made its brand ambassador.

"If there is cleanliness, many problems are solved. People's health improves, the water bodies are clean automatically... So I appeal to the people, every Indian should cooperate", he added.

Aamir Khan also said he cleans his home himself, and that his office is a zero waste space.
